Spring break was over more than a week ago and after all that relaxing it apparently takes a while to get back into a routine. We spent the first part of the week at home, then headed off for the second half to go see Gigi and Pops.
Lexie and Micah weren't excited at all… they tried to pack themselves. Ha!
It didn't take 5 minutes of being at Gigi's before they were begging to jump in the pool and they didn't get out until they were completely wrinkled everywhere. They were too excited to eat much of lunch and totally too excited to take a picture before swimming. Lexie was so excited about the pool at Gigi's she wore her puddle jumper 90% of the 3 hour drive from our house to Gigi's.
It was pajamas, to swim suits, to pajamas most of the days we were there. Pops had warmed up the pool so we could finally test out their new pool and it definitely passed the test! (As if it wouldn't have ha!)
*Warning picture overload as I was playing with Abby's waterproof camera!
Lexie started out a little tentative the first day but she quickly warmed up to the pool and was a little fish, kicking and swimming herself around, bravely 'jumping' in the pool. Micah can swim without his puddle jumper but chose to wear it most of the week. Abby did great and really was a fish and wanted to have swim lessons so we worked on her strokes over the week. Maybe she won't wait until the end of the summer to take the swim test at the gym this year?
Not only did we test out the pool and hot tub but also the fire pit - and what better to do with a fire pit than roast marshmallows. Lexie didn't like them one bit though…. Ha!
Our last full day it rained most of the day so they played in the garage until it finally passed that evening and we went for a swim in the hot tub (since we had already turned off the heat in the pool.)
All three came back home from Spring break at least a shade darker… with a bit of red (oops - we'll do better next time!) from all the time in the sun and pool.
Everyone is already looking forward to heading back to Gigi and Pops house for many visits over the summer :)
