Hey ya'll. It's Wednesday. That means the week is almost half-over. I'm so looking forward to this weekend. I've got fun kid-less events/parties Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'm so looking forward to lots of time with friends (even if one is a going away girls night for one of my favorite gym instructors.) The hubs is stepping up majorly and going to be on some serious daddy duty. I love my sweet littles and I'm sure I'll be craving some serious cuddles come Sunday. It's rare I have this much mommy-free time in one week (or even one month at times!)

  • Speaking of kid-free time. Last Friday night was our annual Bibleland Buddies party - this is our childcare team that I work with in the nursery during the ladies Bible studies, Saturday services and extra events. It was potluck and the theme was international food. So naturally (right?) I decided to make macarons. I invite my sweet friend Ashley over Friday morning because she asked me to learn how to make them and I set about making 4 different varieties. Peppermint and gingerbread for the holidays, then coffee because it was the hubs request and finally strawberry because it's my no-fail recipe and I knew if the other batches didn't turn out these would. I played around with the other recipes because I didn't want to deal with the sugar syrup/candy thermometer variety.  All the recipes are here on my Pinterest board. The gingerbread ended up being my favorite of the flavors I made.

  • Lexie is already keeping me on my toes. She had climbed on the coffee time via the bouncy seat so that's now moved. Now I'm having to keep an eye on her because she can use the kids little chairs to climb onto their little table. Then later that afternoon she climbed into the basket of the stroller. And to think I thought Micah was my little monkey.
  • Just ordinary spelling homework around here...
What have you been up to lately?
