When Abby gets home from school one of the first things she wants to do is her homework. I'm embracing this while it lasts. I know she won't always want to come home to do homework! We sit down at the table (often with a snack) and get out her homework notebook. Most of her homework is pretty simple like practice writing her name 3 times, or the letters Aa, Bb, Cc 3 times. Yesterday it was to draw pictures of 3 tools they use in school. It maybe takes 10 minutes at most to do her homework including taking everything out and putting it away. For now I have a basket on the kitchen table for pencils, homework notebook, crayons, markers and a drawing pad for Micah.

Yesterday she also had a few projects from school that they ran out of time to finish. So she wanted to finish those. She had to cut out some faces and glue them onto the nursery rhyme pictures they had colored.
Micah of course had to be right in the action watching - he was done coloring by this point.
We seem to have found a decent afternoon routine for now and the fighting is less. Still can't wait for the cooler weather to come in so we can play outside more in the afternoon. I can't believe I was thinking this but picking up Abby from school I thought to myself how nice the 95 degree weather felt while waiting for her compared to the 105 of the day before.

Aw how adorable! One day when I have a child I hope they don't need math help...because I'd be of no assistance lol ;)
