sunglasses, spring break, strawberries and a sunset

On Saturday I took the kids out as we were sitting around twiddling our thumbs in the morning. We ended up going to Gymboree for a little shopping. If you don't know they are having a 30% fill a bag sale (no bag filling required just 30% off everything in the store!) In addition I had a 20% off coupon that I was able to use as well plus $5 in rewards dollars. That equals a fantastic deal! I got Abby an outfit and some sunglasses, Micah some super cute jammies and a button down shirt for Easter that will coordinate with Abby's Easter dress (that is so super adorable!) Abby was so happy to have sunglasses again. She used to have a pair (or two) but seems to have her mother's habit of misplacing them (yup mine are missing too!) and she's been complaining about the sun being bright and needing sunglasses.
The weather has been so nice this weekend - we've spent a nice large chunk of time playing outside and leaving the doors open letting the natural air conditioner in. I'm sure in a week or two it will be hot already but for now we are going to soak up every last moment of this gorgeous weather!

We've have a visitor for Spring Break and the kids are oh so excited. This is Zeus, my brother's dog. He's just a tad more energetic than our dog Honey and I think he's wearing her out as she is spending a lot more time running around that normal.
I picked up some strawberries at HEB today. They were so beautiful and big! Abby volunteered to wash them for me and then put them in the berry bowl for me. I was going to take a lovely picture of all the beautiful berries in the bowl but two cute little ones gobbled them up.
This was what was left when I got out my camera - and these were quickly eaten as well. I can't wait to go strawberry picking again in a couple weeks! The orchard opened for the first time this weekend but they aren't at the peak of production yet.

I was so thankful that daylight savings time didn't really seem to affect the kids much today. We got up at a normal time (8 am - which would have been 7 am) and went on about our day like we normally would have with Church, lunch, nap, playing outside, dinner, bath and bedtime.

In case you didn't know - I learned this on facebook from some of my former/current math teacher friends - tomorrow is Pi day.... as in 3.14. So it must be celebrated with pie right? I made a lemon ice box pie (and we ate some of it tonight and will eat more tomorrow - couldn't wait!) Doesn't it look pretty?
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
