Christmas pictures and more

We've had a busy couple days around here. Yesterday Micah had his 18 month check up - he's still my tiny peanut. Then in the evening we got in our coordinating outfits (thanks so much Gigi!) and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's to take some family pictures for Christmas cards. We got some good ones but I haven't decided if I want to share the final card pictures yet or wait until the cards get sent out. So instead here are a couple that won't make the final Christmas card but I still thought were pretty sweet.

Today I hit the gym, made dinner for Stephanie and her family (and got to see baby Lincoln again when we dropped it off - he's grown and is adorable still!) Abby, Micah and I made some cookies to go along with dinner as well. While we had been at the grocery store Micah picked up some Reese's peanut butter baking chips (like chocolate chips only peanut butter!) so we made the chocolate cookies off the back of the package. This was the first time I'd seen these but they are so yummy!

Tonight was a night I'd been looking forward to for oh a week or so ever since I found out about it! (Yes I'm a dork!) Ree Drummond aka The Pioneer Woman who's blog I love to read, who's cookbook I went to Austin to get signed last year was on Throwdown with Bobby Flay on the Food Network. It was a lot of fun to watch - and cheer for Ree. Of course she won! Bobby Flay lost his shot to win when he choose not to do mashed potatoes - almost everyone in the twitter party (yup I said it I'm a dork!) called it when Bobby chose not to make potatoes in favor of brussels sprouts. It was so fun to see The Pioneer Woman on tv (and not just in a ten minute morning show segment.)
