marshmallow egg craft

We haven't really crafted much in a while. Well that I've taken photos of. We've done lots of coloring and Abby's done crafts both at Bibleland and at the gym childcare while I am torturing myself exercising so we've spent our time at home mostly playing outside enjoying the nice weather. I'm sure we'll pick back up the crafts hardcore in another month or so when it's sweltering outside but for now it's just perfect. However I had a couple Easter crafts planned. So I sat Abby down while I fixed dinner and she went to town.

I drew an Easter egg on the construction paper with glue and gave her a bag of colored mini-marshmallows to glue on to decorate her egg.
She was very proud of her finished project. She was so sweet and said it was for Daddy because it was his birthday.
Today we also made Daddy a birthday cake. His birthday was really yesterday but he is having friends over tonight (right now in fact) to play a poker game to celebrate his birthday so I made the cake today so it would be fresh. I tried out The Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake recipe. Then per Daddy's request since it is his cake for his birthday I topped it with cream cheese frosting. I don't know how it tastes yet because we haven't cut into it but I'm hoping it turned out well!
