pears

I got some pears and they were really juicy and yummy and I put some in Abby's mesh feeder and she gobbled her pieces up!

Abby finds Honey fasinating and tries to grab her and pet her at every chance she gets. So tonight we turned her into a horse! Abby found it a whole lot more fun than Honey did.

We have a tooth about to break through. I can see it coming through. I can't get a picture of it yet it probably wouldn't show up. We gave her a banana Popsicle in her mesh feeder and she really enjoyed it.

I scrapbooked some this afternoon/evening and Abby played in her swing like a little monkey then "talked" herself to sleep for a little while.

high chair

I think we may be needing a high chair here soon.... the little bit has some chunky thighs and gets stuck getting in and out of the bumbo. :( She also can lean over the side if she wants something.

bath time

We got a new tub today because Abby wasn't happy just laying down in the other tub. She would fuss until I helped her sit in the tub. So we got a tub she could sit in and I could be a little less worried about her losing her balance and hurting her head. I think she liked it. Although she is still more interested in the wash cloth than splashing in the tub. Oh well at least I don't get wet right?

mesh feeder

We tried a new way to eat today. I got Abby a mesh feeder at Target. I put a piece of pear in it today. She didn't know what to make of it at first. She usually puts everything in her mouth but she didn't expect the pear flavor. After she chewed on it for a minute and really started to get the juices she loved it. Then we had some pear baby food.

Abby continued trying to get up on her hands and knees again today. I got some more pictures for ya'll. She is getting up much better today.

I'm scared

But at least I have a happy baby so far! If what I see is what I think it is we have two teeth about to come through. We've been chewing a whole lot (occassionally trying to on mommy but that stops quickly!) but not fussing anymore than normal. I hope this continues and that I have a happy teether. Now I'm scared of biting! SHE'S GROWING UP TOO FAST!

trying to crawl

Abby has really been trying to get up on all fours lately. It doesn't last long and she doesn't fully get up but it doesn't look like crawling is that far away if she continues to go at the rate she's been going. She went from rolling over back to belly to getting up on all fours in two weeks. So any bets on when she'll crawl?

Oh and for the grandmas at what age did Beau and I crawl? What about teeth? And favorite foods?

We made carrots and pears today. I had been snacking on the carrots and pears and only had enough to make one feeding of carrots and three of pears but its a start on more new foods. I also got her some sippy cups with straws and they are working better. Her shirt doesn't get as soaked and she can get more liquid since she doesn't have to tip it. I am also going to get her a mesh feeder so she can gum some peas/pears/apples/melon/sweet potato ice cudes ect. This will probably come in helpful when she actually starts teething!

I'm debating on the whole high chair thing right now. My only requirement is that the fabric is plastic! There are ones that attach to a chair or that stand alone... too many to choose from!

bye bye puppy

We had good playtime tonight with Daddy and we have come to the conclusion that it just might be time to find a new home for the puppy.... so we took some pictures to remember it by.

football game

We went and worked in the nursery tonight and didn't have anyone to watch for the first hour so we played on the floor. Apparently the Church toys are more fun because we played on our tummy and rolled around for over 45 minutes! Then we moved to the baby room, exercausered then took a nap. When we got home, Daddy was already home and watching the Colts/Patriots game and Abby sat with Daddy and cheered. She got really excited and flapped her arms a lot hitting Daddy. It was so funny, we started laughing at her and she joined in laughing too!

Sunday morning

We went to Church this morning and I didn't have to work in the nursery so we got there and I topped Abby off and went into the service. Abby wasn't having it though.... as soon as Bro. Tommy started preaching, her number came up on the screen. So we spent the rest of the sermon in the cry room (eating/playing/trying to listen to the speaker). This is what happened on the way home though.

staring contest

Honey and Abby had a staring contest yesterday. It was pretty cute. Abby loves to look at Honey, especially when Honey is being silly. It's going to be fun to see Abby chase after Honey once she starts moving around. Abby likes Coco too (and Coco constantly wants to see her as well) but Coco wants to be right up in Abby's face while Honey still keeps her distance most of the time. Other than a few close sniffs this is the closest Honey gets to Abby.

We ate some more bananas last night and she ate them up again. We got some pictures this time. Here's my little banana birdie!

visit from Pops

Pops came to visit and we were a little clingy to mommy at first but we warmed and and even gave him some giggles (and tried to steal his rolls during dinner!)

She sat like a big girl in a high chair during dinner but I didn't have my camera with it (it was charging at home) but we'll get pictures next time!

bananas

We went to TJ's for dinner with Mimi and Pappy and she went crazy when the food got to our table... her toys were no longer entertaining enough so she chewed on mommy's finger while I ate. She really wanted to eat too! Maybe because she was being a big girl and sitting in a high chair. I put a blanket behind her to keep her more supported but she was able to sit in it while I ate. So we came home and after waking up for our car seat nap.... We tried bananas..... and she LOVED them. There are her favorite so far! She kept opening her mouth like a little birdie. It was so cute! I had some ripe bananas so she got them fresh but now we have a whole thing of ice cubes of them in the freezer and three "to-go" containers. Still just as messy though. Sorry I don't have any pictures since I can't feed her and take pictures at the same time (and eat kumquats - which were very yummy!).

I got a new vase to match our blue plates. Now I need new napkins... maybe brown ones?

lounging

Abby relaxed this morning and watched Sesame Street while I got dressed, made our bed and folded the laundry.

Normally I'll talk to her while I do these things but today neither of us slept well last night (up every 2 hours to eat - maybe the 6 month growth spurt?) and she wasn't happy just chatting.

Beau was holding Abby and while she tried to protest.... she caved and feel asleep in no time!

Abby loves being on Daddy's head... maybe she likes being high up? Or maybe it's because he tastes yummy!

Abby is in a particularly clingy mood today. I guess part of that is probably due to actually being away from her for all of class today (Tuesday it was going over the syllabus, what book we needed ect. see you Thursday) but even Daddy wouldn't do earlier... only Mommy holds her the right way today. Even her toys aren't entertaining enough. I'm enjoying my cuddles though!

consumer reports retraction

Consumer Reports has retracted their study about infant seats. So the car seat techs were right and we'll keep using her seat as she seems to have finally gotten over the crying in it. So I found a new way, a much less messy way to scrapbook. It's cool but I think I like paper better.

I've created a monster

I found a new website that Abby loves and it even made her laugh. I'm afraid I've created a monster that will never let me near the computer again without her getting her playtime. www.kneebouncers.com She even giggled for me which she doesn't do very often. She'll giggle for Daddy but not for Mommy. Apparently mommy isn't very funny anymore.
Now I need a drool guard for the computer!

attack of the slobber monster

Abby was so cute with her Daddy tonight. All she wanted to do was grab at his face and eat him up. She tried to eat his check, nose and glasses. She does this to me a little but more so wanting to grab my hair. (Ouch!) Here is a video of her "attacking" Daddy.

I'm sad that I have to go back to school tomorrow. I don't wanna! I'll miss my little girl. :(

My jeans are too lose! I need a new pair now because even after washing and drying they still try to fall off. I think I can take that as a good sign. :) (Sorry no picture of my jeans falling off ;) )

sweet potatoes

We tried sweet potatoes tonight! She seemed to really like them although I think that Honey liked them more :) She really wanted to clean the baby while Abby was eating. Today was a little less messy although I'm not sure if she got more in her mouth or if Honey just kept her clean enough to not make such a big mess.
